  • travelling to ancient sacred sites
  • mapping the menstrual cycle
  • archetypes of menstruality
  • reiki
  • motherhood and birth
  • VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean)

Apparently St Winefride’s well is the oldest pilgrimage site in the uk

After the spring was claimed by religion the story was that St Winefride had her head cut off by a guy who she rejected when he made a move on her 🤨 #bitextreme but then her uncle reattached her head and the guy got swallowed up by the earth 🤷‍♀️

Though I’m more interested in the energetics of the spring and how it would have been before it was claimed by the church - it was a very charged and mystical place 🍃💫🪬

(Also if you visit - go for lunch at the Jamaican place next door..it was lush!)

Have you ever let fear or insecurity stop you from doing something??

I took Malakai to the library the other day and it reminded me of years ago (around 2009 I think) when I was living in London and felt like I wanted to start yoga but was too self conscious to go to a class 🙈 (I was addicted to cardio in those days 🙄) so instead I picked up a book in the library and started practicing on my own in my bedroom - this was before the days of apps and everything online 👵🏼😆

When I finally went to class I knew straight away I wanted to teach and yoga has since become a huge part of my life

As a teacher I’ve heard people say many times that they are too anxious to attend a class or that they’re not ‘good’ enough to come..and believe me I get it! But if I’d let my worry hold me back I wouldn’t have found the magic that was waiting on the other side

I’m not saying to ignore your fears, but is there a way you can lean in? And walk alongside your insecurity with compassion whilst not letting it hold you back from what you know you want to do?

If you’ve been wanting to join me for a womb yoga session but something has been stopping you - my next one is this Sunday 4-6.30pm.
You are welcome to attend 🙏 and you can bring all your fears, anxieties and insecurities with you - they deserve to be there too 🌹🙌

Message me for details and to book 💜 or if you’re not feeling being in a group setting I also am available for 121’s..get in touch and let’s chat ☺️

Regardless of whether you 🩸 or not. The cycles I talk about show up in so many different areas of life.

Creatively, we all follow the same patterns regardless of what it is we’re creating

Once you familiarise yourself with the pattern, you’ll start to notice which phase feels more comfortable and which might feel like an edge, or somewhere you’re getting stuck..

We all have strengths and weaknesses. The more we become aware of our patterns the easier it is to work with them. That’s where your cycle comes in

If you 🩸 then this is an embodied process - you get to feel the rise and fall of the energies and tune into the potency of each phase..which then helps to prepare you for when these cycles present in other areas of your life..like for example the creative process.

This is obviously nuanced and more than I can go into here but thought I’d share another insight into how cycle awareness can support your life

I’ve written a blog about it so head to my 🔗 if you’re interested to read more

I realise this may be an unpopular opinion but why is it that so many ‘parenting methods’ are actually just straight up emotional and psychological manipulation!? 🙈

If we treated other adults this way it would be classed as abuse - but yet when people do it to their kids it’s just accepted 🤔😧

For example - the naughty step. You basically decide on some arbitrary rules and if your kid doesn’t tow the line they get isolated, ignored and shamed into submission

But apparently - ‘it works’ ??? 🙈

Does it? Does your child now behave in a way that doesn’t compromise your comfort? Do they obey you?

How is that the goal of parenting???!To make our kids do what we say without question 🫤

I don’t know about you but I want a child that questions authority..and makes behavioural decisions based on love, compassion and understanding rather than fear of punishment

Yes it may mean that you’re triggered or things don’t always go how you want them to go - but our kids are mirrors for us to look at ourselves and where WE need to heal in order to do better FOR them. As parents we are in service to the future generation. They are not on this planet to make you feel comfortable

Your discomfort is a gift showing you what needs to be looked at. So do the work!

Ok rant over - as you were 😆

Btw - this is not about shaming anyone for how they parent, I’m well aware of trauma, triggers and generational patterns being passed on. It’s also important work to re parent yourself in the process 🙏🥰 but this is a topic that’s on my mind a lot so needed to say it..

I took Malakai to the library the other day and it reminded me of years ago (around 2009 I think) when I was living in London and felt like I wanted to start yoga but was too self conscious to go to a class 🙈 (I was addicted to cardio in those days 🙄) so instead I picked up a book in the library and started practicing on my own in my bedroom - this was before the days of apps and everything online 👵🏼😆 When I finally went to class I knew straight away I wanted to teach and yoga has since become a huge part of my life As a teacher I’ve heard people say many times that they are too anxious to attend a class or that they’re not ‘good’ enough to come..and believe me I get it! But if I’d let my worry hold me back I wouldn’t have found the magic that was waiting on the other side I’m not saying to ignore your fears, but is there a way you can lean in? And walk alongside your insecurity with compassion whilst not letting it hold you back from what you know you want to do? If you’ve been wanting to join me for a womb yoga session but something has been stopping you - my next one is this Sunday 4-6.30pm. You are welcome to attend 🙏 and you can bring all your fears, anxieties and insecurities with you - they deserve to be there too 🌹🙌 Message me for details and to book 💜 or if you’re not feeling being in a group setting I also am available for 121’s..get in touch and let’s chat ☺️ #jaima #yogateachers #yogatransformation #itsnotaboutthepostures #wombyoga #womensyoga #yogaforwomen

4 simple ways to look after your breast health - How many of these do you do?

I now find wearing underwires SO uncomfortable!

In terms of the yoga - even just the intention of connecting to your heart space and breathing into this area can work wonders. You don’t have to be doing anything fancy, heart womb practices are accessible to everyone 💜

And FYI the massage makes such a big difference! Make sure to use gentle organic oil (ideally unscented- I personally have stopped using essential oils in the past 6 months as they are antibacterial and can have a detrimental effect on your microbiome - follow @arielledemartinez for more info on that) and massage up and around to follow the direction of lymph

Let me know what else you do to look after the 🍉’s 😆

Back in the day! 😆

I went through menarche just before my 12 birthday. I was about 14 on this picture (fila, the first time round lol) just as I started on the pill as I used to get the most debilitating cramps! 😔

At menarche we are initiated into cyclical consciousness, menstruality.

Do you remember this time in your life? What your passions and dreams were? How you liked to spend your time? What mattered to you? What difficulties you faced?
The experience of your first bleed sets the tone for the rest of your cycling years.

Maybe you learned that women are cursed and having a cycle means to suffer? This can have life long implications!

If you feel called, I invite you to explore your connection to this time :

🖊 Journal about this time in your life
🧘‍♀️ Meditate and connect to your menarchial self
🌷 Work with the inner spring of your cycle (this relates to your childhood/adolescence in the life cycle)
🎵 Make a playlist of music from around the time of your menarchial experience (I’ll share mine in my stories - don’t judge me 😂)
📝 Write a letter to your younger self with things you wished you’d known

Take time to connect to the essence of who you were back then.

As you unpack this powerful time in your life you get to rewrite the story. Whether menarche was a non-event for you, or filled with trauma, or a time without memories…the medicine of reclaiming this part of yourself can be impactful on not only healing menarchial memories but can also affect your relationship to your cycle right now as well as easing the transition into menopause once you get there

It is ALL connected!

As always, if you would like support with this work or have questions around this topic then reach out to me.

This work can bring up a lot so whether you’re doing it with support or not - make sure to ease in with compassion for every version of yourself and prioritise your self care

💕🦋🌷
