Your breasts are the gateway to your heart. When you spend time to nurture yourself it is a divine gift of self love. These 4 ways to look after your breast health are simple ways for you to free up the energy to your breasts and can help cultivate a deeper sense of love. It’s also important to get familiar with how your breasts feel so that you’ll notice if anything unusual occurs. Make sure to contact your doctor straight away if you notice anything out of the ordinary.
1. Breast Massage
A practice you can do daily that helps with lymphatic drainage as well as connecting you to your feminine pleasure.
I personally have found that breast massage makes such a big difference! If you’re consistent with this practice it can help your breasts to feel fuller and perkier – always a bonus when you’ve spent 4 years + breastfeeding like me!
Make sure to use gentle organic oil free of chemicals (this is the one I use) and massage up between your breasts then around the sides and down in circular motion to follow the direction of lymph.
I’d recommend to spend a couple of minutes every day doing this practice and then put aside some time once a week for a longer massage. I personally do it once I’m out of the shower. I warm the oil in my hands and massage onto wet skin to soak in the moisture.
You can also finish off by massaging from the centre of your chest out to your underarms in the direction of lymph flow and ‘pump’ your fingers in your armpits to encourage drainage.
2. No underwires
You know that feeling at the end of the day when you get home and it feels so good to take your bra off? That’s your body speaking to you. Constricting underwear is not ideal for the health of your breasts as they can compress the delicate tissues and decrease circulation.
Opt for bras made of soft natural materials and make sure to avoid the constriction of underwires or anything too tight fitting in this area. Or just go bra-free!
I made the switch a number of years ago and now I find wearing underwires SO uncomfortable!
3. Natural deodorant
The deodorant you use can have a direct impact on breast health. Many mainstream products contain chemicals such as aluminium, parabens and other preservatives which can mimic oestrogen in the body and affect hormonal balance. Instead opt for natural products where possible that won’t flood your body with xenoestrogens.
Heart opening yoga practices are a great way to cultivate healthy breasts. It encourages lymph flow and energetically opens you up to give and receive love.
Your breasts are extensions of your heart so as you open up to receive, your breasts wil reap the benefits.
If you’re new to yoga, don’t worry – you don’t have to be doing anything fancy. Even just the intention of connecting to your heart space and breathing into this area can work wonders. These gentle practices are accessible to everyone.
